Steps to make Mutton keema with beans and cocoa:
- Heat a big pan with cooking oil. Add bay leave.
- Add chopped onion and saute till onions become soft.
- In the meantime grind tomatoes into puree.
- Add ginger-garlic paste to the soft onions and fry for a minute.
- Add the minced meat or keema and stir continuously.
- Break the minced meat with spatula so that they will not make lumps.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes'and then add cumin, coriander and chilli powder.
- Mix well. Add salt and sugar.
- Add the prepared tomato puree.
- Mix well. Add the boiled kidney beans and pumpkin.Mix well.
- Add 1 cup of hot water, cover and cook for 10 minutes in low heat.
- After 10 minutes remove the lid, add a teaspoon of cocoa powder. Give it a mix.
- Cook for another 5 minutes. Check the consistency of the curry. You can add water if you like thin consistency.
- Check the seasoning. You will find a complex beautiful flavor of cocoa and other spices.
- Remove from heat and transfer to a serving bowl. Garnish as you like and enjoy with steam rice, pita bread or chapati.
